The researchers concluded that consumers must limit the sugar in their diet or face serious health consequences. Doctors need to caution their patients against sugar in their diets.

There is widespread disagreement from the medical community about how much sugar is dangerous. This disagreement is no more evident than in the disparity between the recommendations of the World Health Organization's suggestion that sugar should constitute no more than 10% of total calories and the Institute of Medicine's (of the USA) suggestion that 25% is the correct limit!
